Bethel AME Church Back To School Block Party

The brothers of the Psi Lambda Lambda chapter of Omega volunteered at Bethel AME. They did voter registration for all participants that are 18 or older. They talked to community members about the importance of voting in the upcoming election. They helped with set up and breakdown of the entire block party. And some of the more spry brothers even ran games for the youth. Psi Lambda Lambda has a longstanding partnership with Bethel as its pastor is also one of our chapter members; the newly elected Bishop Henry Belin. The event was a tremendous success and Psi Lambda Lambda never misses an opportunity to give back.

Annual Health Symposium & Backpack Jam

Each year the Psi Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity Incorporated partners with the North Manhattan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Incorporated to bring fun and healthy living to the village of Harlem. The event held in the Polo Grounds Community Center features health screenings from Metro Plus, American Red Cross, and many others.

PsiLL and NMAC donate around 1000 backpacks to grade school children in their annual affair. Kids can get their face painted, grab a hot from the grill, and some much needed school supplies for the upcoming school year.

The backpacks are for elementary, middle, and high school age children who live in the neighborhood. Each year families pour out to see this event in full swing. A marching band will entertain the crowd while parents will get screened from everything from high blood pressure to diabetes. The Annual Family Health Symposium and Backpack Jam is a signature event of Psi Lambda Lambda and its communities partners. Don’t miss the next coming up August 26, 2023 at 10AM in the Polo Grounds.

Gratitude

The Brothers of Psi Lambda Lambda participate each year in a Turkey Drive and Feed the Homeless event at the Metropolitan Baptist church. Deacon Hayes is a long time supporter of our chapter and during the holidays the Brothers give of their time to make sure that folks can have a hot meal. PsiLL does food preparation and helps to seat and serve all who come to the church.
